This type of assessment includes a review of relevant documents (e.g., previous assessments), clinical interviewing, cognitive and academic testing. A detailed report is provided which can be presented to school officials in order to be offered placement into a gifted program, or to obtain modifications to the regular classroom.

A giftedness assessment involves approximately 6.5 to 7.5 hours of service. A well-trained and experienced psychometrist completes step 2 of this assessment process.

Approximate Schedule

Step 1: 0.5 to 1-hour clinical interview (virtual or in-person)

Step 2: 3 hours cognitive/academic testing (in-person)

Step 3: 2.5 hours scoring/interpretation/report writing (no attendance required)

Step 4: 0.5 to 1 hour feedback session (virtual or in-person)
