Psychodiagnostic Assessments
Adults and Adolescents

Psychodiagnostic assessments provide in-depth understanding of psychological, emotional and social functioning. This type of assessment is designed to minimize subjectivity and opinion as much as possible in an effort to maximize objective accuracy. This is accomplished by gathering a large amount of information through interviewing (unstructured and semi-structured), questionnaires and observations, and gradually narrowing the focus based on the information collected. This is helpful for clarifying clinical presentations and arriving at an accurate diagnosis, including for complex cases where diagnoses are unclear. It is also helpful for broader case-conceptualizations that inform treatment approaches. Verbal feedback is provided and a report or letter are available as requested. Personalized treatment recommendations for clients are provided.

There is no set outline or length for such an assessment, as it varies depending on your needs. The following is a general outline of this type of assessment.

  • 2 to 4 hours of clinical interviewing

  • 1 to 2 hours of scoring/interpretation

  • 1 to 2 hours of letter/report writing

  • 0.5 to 1 hour feedback

The time required ranges from 4.5 to 9 hours, depending on needs.
