Psychoeducational Assessments
Children, Teens and Adults
We offer comprehensive psychoeducational assessments following best practices in the profession. Our goal is to maximize accuracy and the helpfulness of recommendations for treatment and accommodations.
A psychoeducational assessment focuses on identifying barriers to success in school or work, including learning difficulties, psychological and emotional difficulties. It can result in the identification of learning disorders, psychological disorders, and ADHD. This type of assessment is helpful for identifying learning, behavioural, and psychological strengths and weaknesses when difficulties at school or work are experienced, and for obtaining recommendations for treatment and accommodations. This assessment includes a detailed report.
A comprehensive psychoeducational assessment requires 14 to 18 hours of service. The amount of time needed varies based on the inclusion of ADHD, broader mental health assessments, and overall complexity. The assessment includes multiple questionnaires and review of relevant reports. The time required to complete the assessment varies, but it can require up to 3 months (shorter time spans are possible). Steps 2 and 3 of this assessment process are completed by a career-focused psychometrist, and under supervision of a licensed psychologist.
